Hospice Alliance Hospice House provides a place of comfort and care for patients who meet hospice criteria. Life situations and circumstances do not always permit one to remain in their own home as they face the end of life. Hospice House provides care in a homelike setting by a team of professional caregivers twenty-four hours per day.
When might an individual consider the Hospice House?
- A spouse or caregiver must continue to work to maintain medical insurance and provide a necessary income to support the family
- The caregiver is frail and/or elderly
- The individual is facing end of life alone
- Family is not residing in the area
- Other special circumstances may require inpatient care in our Hospice House
Hospice House offers private rooms with a homelike environment. Each room is completely furnished and includes a private bath and television. Common areas include a living room, family lounge, kitchen, laundry, and a garden-style yard.
The Hospice staff, patient and family, along with their personal physician and Hospice Alliance’s medical director, work together to determine if our Hospice House is appropriate for the individual. The Medicare Hospice benefit does not provide for Hospice House room and board reimbursement, however, Hospice Alliance’s services are available to patients regardless of their ability to pay.
